Children should have wrestling shoes and athletic clothing free from zippers/hard buttons.

What if my child doesn’t have wrestling shoes yet?

If you don’t have wrestling shoes yet, that’s okay! We often have a small selection of shoes to lend out until you purchase your own or your child can go barefoot.

What does RUN TO DANGER mean?

“Run To Danger” started after Coach Val (Jerry Vallotton) had a conversation with a fellow coach and local state champion, Steve Schenk. Coach Val was after the secret sauce to creating state champs and Steve mentioned how he credited his success to seeking out the biggest tournaments in order to wrestle the best competition he could find. “If you wrestle the best guys all year long, you won’t be surprised when you have to wrestle them at state.” When Coach Val questioned him about the experience he simply replied, “run to danger”. And so the saying was born – RTD! Coach Val put it on posters, t-shirts and Sharpied it on anything he could find until it was fully ingrained in the wrestling room culture.

Shortly after putting the “Run To Danger” method into effect, he led his 2007 team to place 8th as a team at the California State Tournament with four guys standing on the podium. Coach Caleb was one of those state placers and he has continued to adopt RTD as a way of life.

Seek out hard things, reach outside of your comfort zone and accomplish big goals!
